Our History

How it began: Chatelain Cargo Services S.A., located in Haiti was founded as a family business in 1970 by Victor and Therese Chatelain (the first truck of the company below). Philippe Victor, their son, took over the company in 1993 when the international sanctions against the coup d’état were being imposed upon Haiti with a three-year economic embargo. After the embargo was lifted, Chatelain Cargo Services S.A., a freight forwarder with a team of brokers, grew considerably from a family company of about 20 employees to a corporation 15 years later of about 100 employees.

In 2007, Phillipe Victor Chatelain approached Mia C Dominguez, forming Chatelain Cargo Services, Inc., a separate entity, located in Miami, FL USA, NVOCC, FMC License, Hazmat Certified, Indirect Air Carrier, and subcontracted bonded warehouse facility, owned and operated by Mia C Dominguez, offering freight services air, rail and ocean with inland transportation.

Both entities offer a bonded warehouse facility, team of brokers, custom clearance, secure shipping and delivery, competitive pricing, expanded agent network, and outstanding customer support.
